Neverware, based in New York City, makes a software program called CloudReady that allows you to turn a Laptop into a Chrome OS operating system. Neverware states in its FAQ that it is "officially part of Google and the Chrome OS team" for its CloudReady software. The idea is that, rather than throwing them out, businesses and schools (as well as people) can convert old, slow systems into Chromebooks. Not much is likely to improve for existing CloudReady users in the near future, according to Neverware's FAQ. The website, forums, customer support, and admin portal of the company will continue to work as usual, though it seems that they will eventually migrate to the services of Google.
