There is a wide range of industrial uses for Acetone
Acetone Market

Acetone is a chemical that is used in the production of products such as nail polish remover and paint remover. This chemical is also produced by your body when fat is broken down.

For energy, your body turns to sugar, also known as glucose. Following a meal, the hormone insulin transports glucose from your bloodstream into your cells. You can't use glucose for fuel if your body doesn't produce enough insulin or if you eat very few carbohydrates. As a result, your body instead burns fat.

Your liver produces Acetone  as it breaks down stored fat. The most common ketone is acetone.

When fat is your body's primary fuel source, you produce more ketones. Excessive consumption is referred to as ketosis.
