Galvanized steel sheets can be divided into several different categories depending on the method of their production and processing, as follows.
1.Hot-dipped galvanized steel sheets
This type of steel plate is dipped into a bath containing dissolved zinc, which causes the zinc to adhere to the surface of the plate. Currently, continuous galvanising is used in factories, where rolls of steel are continuously dipped into a bath containing zinc to produce a galvanized steel sheet.
2. Alloy galvanized steel
Alloy galvanized steel is also produced using the hot dip method. However, this method also requires that the steel is heated to around 500°C immediately after leaving the bath to form an alloy of zinc and iron. Alloyed galvanized steel has excellent adhesion and weldability.
3. Electro-galvanized steel sheets
This galvanized steel prepared using the electroplating method has good processing properties. However, the galvanized layer is thin and the corrosion resistance is not as good as that of hot-dipped galvanized sheet.
4. Single-sided galvanized and double-sided galvanized steel sheets
Single-sided galvanized steel sheet, as the name implies, means that only one side of the steel sheet is galvanized. It has better adaptability than double-sided galvanized sheet in terms of welding, painting, rust-proof treatment and processing. To overcome the disadvantage of not coating one side with zinc, the other side is made into a thin zinc galvanized sheet, i.e. double-sided poorly galvanized sheet.
5. Alloy, composite galvanized steel sheet
Zinc and lead-zinc alloy and other metal composite galvanized steel sheet. This steel sheet not only has excellent rust-proof performance, but also has good painting performance.
In addition to the above five types of steel sheets, galvanized steel sheets also include color galvanized steel sheets, printed galvanized steel sheets, etc., but hot-dip galvanized sheets are currently the most commonly used on the market.
