Apache Hadoop is an open source framework for storing and processing large datasets ranging in size from gigabytes to petabytes of data. Instead of using a single large computer to store and process data, Hadoop allows for the clustering of multiple computers to analyse massive datasets in parallel more quickly.
Hadoop is made up of four main modules:
Hadoop and Big Data Analytics - A distributed file system that runs on standard or low-end hardware. HDFS offers higher data throughput than traditional file systems, as well as high fault tolerance and native support for large datasets.
Yet Another Resource Negotiator (YARN) - Manages and monitors cluster nodes and resource usage. It organises and schedules jobs and tasks.
