Carbon fiber plate molding process
Carbon fiber plate generally adopts the production process of molding, which is a molding method catalyzed by the joint action of pressure, temperature and time. The main purpose is to let the resin in the carbon fiber prepreg fully flow into the mold cavity, and to be solid to press the carbon fiber prepreg layers tightly to make it perform better after molding. Today Coreco introduces you to some elements of attention in carbon fiber plate molding.

1.Carbon fiber plate prepreg compaction

When the carbon fiber plate is molded, the prepreg layer needs to be compacted. When the layer is compacted, air will enter between the layers of carbon fiber prepreg, which will cause defects when the carbon fiber plate is molded. After forming the sheet, it will be easy to have bulging and delamination.

In order to avoid the occurrence of the situation, after the completion of the paving layer also need to be compacted in addition, can be used after the layer stacked several layers of roller mill compaction, including the time of stacking material, you can first carbon fiber prepreg for compaction, can be a certain degree of solution in the paving material when the air into the situation. In addition, when the molding process is carried out, the rate of temperature rise should be well controlled, too fast and too high temperature will cause different degrees of internal and external curing, which will also cause the internal situation to be not tight.

2. Carbon fiber plate molding process time

After the carbon fiber plate is put into the hot press, the molding time will also affect the performance of the carbon fiber plate, the carbon fiber plate curing molding time will affect the flatness of the plate. If the temperature is raised to the maximum required temperature too early for fast curing, the resin overflow will cause the carbon fiber plate to have low resin content, which will lead to a decrease in the shear properties of the carbon fiber plate. Too long molding time will cause a decrease in the accuracy of the sheet size after the resin solidification, and in addition, if the resin content is high, it will also lead to a decrease in the bending strength of the sheet.

3. Carbon fiber plate molding process temperature

In the carbon fiber plate molding, after the hot press, it needs to be pressurized and heated, then the temperature at the time of heating should also be noted, because the hot press is open type, so the temperature control is a bit difficult compared to the hot press tank, in the process of molding, the heating speed of the hot press should be based on the temperature of the mold, for example, when the mold temperature is high, the heating speed of the hot press is slower, but when the mold When the temperature is low, the heating speed is faster, then in the molding process, if the heating speed is fast, it is easy to lead to the surface of the resin matrix melting faster, solidifying earlier, making the shear strength drop, which will lead to white spots on the surface of the product, so the control of the temperature is very important.

4. Carbon fiber plate molding process temperature rise rate

When molding, the upper and lower molds are combined in a hot press for heating and pressurization, and the whole system is open, so it is difficult to maintain stability in the curing process as in the hot press. Under the same heating power condition, when the mold temperature is low, its heating up rate is faster, and when the temperature is higher, the heating up rate becomes slower; too slow heating up rate will lead to the whole process of pressing longer, too fast heating up rate will lead to the early solidification of the material of the surface layer,, the shear strength between the layers is reduced, and the product surface will have white spots, rich glue and other defects. Therefore, during the molding process, the heating power can be changed in such a way that the heating speed of the mold can be guaranteed to be within a suitable range (no more than ±5℃).
