Sciatica Refers To Pain Caused By Irritation Of The Sciatic Nerve
Sciatica

The term "Sciatica" refers to leg nerve discomfort brought on by irritation and/or compression of the sciatic nerve. Sciatica starts in the lower back and extends down the leg, deep into the buttock. Along the route of the long sciatic nerve, the symptoms of sciatica are frequently seen. Sciatica frequently has one or more of the following characteristics:

Pain- Most people who experience Sciatica pain describe it as a persistent burning sensation or a shooting pain that starts in the lower back or buttock and travels down the front or back of the thigh, leg, and/or feet.

Numbness- The back of the leg numbness may accompany sciatica pain. Tingling and/or weakness can also appear occasionally.

One-sided symptoms - One leg is frequently affected by sciatica. The affected leg frequently feels heavy as a result of the ailment. 1 Rarely, both legs may experience the same problem.

Posture induced symptoms- Sitting, attempting to stand up, leaning forward, twisting the spine, lying down, and/or coughing may make sciatica symptoms worse. Walking or placing a hot pack over the back of the pelvis may help to reduce the symptoms.
