How should the valve be cleaned and maintained?
Today we continue to study the valve. In daily use, how should we clean and maintain the valve to make it last longer?

Yesterday we talked about the relevant requirements of the valve in installation and acceptance. Today we continue to study the valve. How should it be cleaned and maintained so that it can be used for a longer time?

Valve cleaning steps:

Parts of the valve must go through the following processes before assembly:

1. According to the processing requirements, some parts of the valve need to be polished, and the surface must not have processing burrs;

2. All parts of the valve are degreased;

3. After the valve is degreasing, pickling and passivation is carried out, and the cleaning agent does not contain phosphorus;

4. After the valve is pickled and purified, rinse it with pure water, and there should be no chemical residue, and this step is omitted for carbon steel parts;

5. The valve should be wiped dry with non-woven fabric one by one, and the surface of the parts such as wire hair should not be retained, or it should be dried with clean nitrogen;

6. Use non-woven fabric or precision filter paper dipped in analytical pure alcohol to wipe the valve parts one by one until there is no dirty color.

Daily maintenance of the valve:

1. Pay attention to the storage environment of the valve. It should be stored in a dry and ventilated room, and both ends of the passage should be blocked.

2. The valve should be checked regularly, and the dirt on it should be removed, and anti-rust oil should be smeared on its surface.

3. After installation and application of the valve, regular maintenance should be carried out to ensure its normal operation.

4. Check whether the sealing surface of the valve is worn, and repair or replace it according to the situation.

5. Check the wear of the trapezoidal thread of the valve stem and the valve stem nut, whether the packing is outdated, etc., and make necessary replacements.

6. The sealing performance of the valve should be tested to ensure its performance.

7. The valve in operation should be in good condition, the bolts on the flange and the bracket are complete, the threads are not damaged, and there is no looseness.

8. If the handwheel is lost, it should be matched in time, and cannot be replaced with a live wrench.

9. The packing gland is not allowed to be skewed or have no pre-tightening clearance.

10. If the valve is used in a harsh environment and is easily contaminated by rain, snow, dust, sand and other pollutants, a protective cover should be installed for the valve stem.

11. The ruler on the valve should be kept complete, accurate and clear, and the lead seal and cap of the valve should be kept.

12. The insulation jacket should be free of dents and cracks.

13. Avoid hitting the valve in operation, or supporting heavy objects.

The valve in operation, all kinds of valve parts should be complete and intact. The bolts on the flange and the bracket are indispensable, the threads should be intact, and no loosening is allowed. If the tightening nut on the handwheel is found to be loose, it should be tightened in time to avoid abrasion of the connection or loss of the handwheel and nameplate. If the handwheel is lost, it is not allowed to replace it with an adjustable wrench, and it should be completed in time. Packing glands are not allowed to be skewed or have no preload clearance. For valves in environments that are easily contaminated by rain, snow, dust, sand and other pollutants, a protective cover should be installed on the valve stem. The scale on the valve should remain complete, accurate and clear. The lead seal, cap, and pneumatic accessories of the valve should be complete and intact. The insulation jacket should be free of dents and cracks. It is not allowed to knock, stand or support heavy objects on the valve in operation; especially non-metallic valves and cast iron valves, it is even more forbidden.

The above are the points that PARFECT STEEL has sorted out for you to pay attention to in the maintenance of the valve. You should pay attention to it when you use it.
