A Progressing Cavity Pump Is Used To Meter And Pump Fluids That Are Viscous Or Shear-Sensitive
Progressing Cavity Pump

One kind of displacement pump is the Progressing Cavity Pump. It is incredibly flexible and versatile and works best for the most difficult pumping tasks, handling extremely viscous liquids. It is capable of handling a variety of tasks, including pumping viscous, shear-sensitive, and abrasive materials. Progressive cavity pumps are sometimes referred to as cavity pumps, progg cavity pumps, and PC pumps.

A Progressing Cavity Pump creates flow, just like other positive displacement pumps do. Regardless of the inlet pressure, it continuously pushes the displaced fluid. It carries the fluid into an extended casing after drawing the fluid with the suction entrance. Helical rotor and stator are contained inside the housing. Little cavities form as a result of the rotor's contact with the stator's surface as it rotates. The fluid then progresses through these rows of cavities before being discharged through an outlet. It is impossible to run the positive displacement pump dry. Pump failure results from the heat produced between the rotor and stator when the motor is run dry. Most PC pumps have safety features that stop them from running out of fuel.
